Nike 2012 Hyper

Nike 2012 Lunar Hyperdunk

Lunar Hyperdunk- The Nike 2012 Hyperdunk are the best hyperdunks they have made so far. If you have enjoyed Hyperdunk models in the past then you’re in for a ride as these are nothing like the past versions. About the whole Nike + thing, do you "need" it, personally I dont think you do, but if you are going to be going in to college or the NBA then I would say it would be helpful to you, or you are just really interested in training, then sure you could get it.  But if you are a normal baller like me, then I would say that it really isn't that useful.  This year I really like the Hyperdunks.

Traction – I know quite a few of you have their doubts on the pattern used but after checking them out in person, the only thing I’m worried about is the clear outsole. While clear outsoles tend to attract dust, these have widely spaced grooves so they dont get so dusty.  But if you hoop in on a clean, not really any dust on the floor, then I would say that you would have no promblem with your traction.  But if you are hooping on a dusty floor, you will find your self wiping the bottoms of your shoes to get the dust of the bottom to get more grip, or putting more floor grip on.

Cushion – Lunarlon is one of the best foam cushions in a shoe, personally I really like this type of foam. The lunar foam did a great job distrubting the wieght, but I think if they did it through out the whole shoe, instead of just certain zones of the shoe, it would of had better cushion. I also really like that they used zoom air in targeted areas as well, it is a way better "ride" when you are plaing.

Fit – The latest Hyperdunk uses the same last as the Hyperdunk 2011 so they run a bit narrow at the forefoot. Wide footers may want to either try them on prior to purchase or go with ½ size larger. But the lenght are true to size as normal.
The snug fit at the forefoot is welcomed as it leaves you with little to no room or dead space. At the midfoot is where you will feel the Flywire cables hug your foot and stay with it during changes in direction and other harsh movements… almost giving a custom fit for each wearer. The Dynamic Flywire are legit "cables" that run around the lace eye lets and when you start to pull the lace tight, the Dynamic Flywire snugs your foot in.
The heel is great. Slightly molded padding keeps the Achilles and heel in place while the rest of the collar hugs the ankle without restricting its natural movements whatsoever. They fit so nice at the heel and collar that I didn’t even need to lace them up to the top eyelet as I typically do.
